Los machos de los Odonatos por su peculiar y exclusiva conformación de la genitalia producen escenas muy fotográficas.
Sabemos que la genitalia del macho está dividida, en el 2º segmento abdominal se sitúa la genitalia secundaria, el pene, y en el 9º, en la cara ventral, la primaria (los testículos).
Para aparearse, el macho cogerá a la hembra y hará la carga de esperma que es lo que vemos en la foto, instantes después se producirá la cópula.
Enallagma cyathigerum (foto) es muy abundante en el Coto y no es difícil ver la escena.
