So having making a trip away to shoot these lovely poppy fields, I decided that I would do something a little different from everyone else and shoot between the poppies ,the real name is Papaver somniferum, commonly known as the opium poppy.This type of poppy has been used medicinally for over 5000 years; When the unripe seed capsule is incised a milky fluid runs out and when dried this constitutes opium which contains three important alkaloids—morphine, codeine, and papaverine.
