Just an hour out side of La Crosse, in Gays Mills, WI is an annual downhill skateboard race/free ride. Hosted by the La Crosse local skate shop, Black Squrl Skate, this event attracts over a hundred spectators and about 50 skateboarders on a closed road. An all weekend event, they have a free ride competition, open skate, and downhill competition racing on a quarter mile hill with two major turns. Skateboarders race at speeds up to 50 mph!
