Facing the Fire

A build I created for the sake of continuing Sir Hadrian's story. This is actually one of my more recent renders, at least compared to the other ones I've been posting.

Now, I'm not really that good of a builder, so the dragon definitely isn't fantastic, but I think it at least passes as mediocre.

Anyway, here's the next part of the story:

Sir Hadrian and his loyal militia pressed on through the barren country they found themselves in, seeking the author of the evil deeds they saw all around them. Day passed and evening began to fall, but there was still no sign of the dragon. A growing disquiet took hold of them.

"Sire, perhaps we ought to stop here for the night." proposed one of the militiaman.

"That might be a good idea..." said Sir Hadrian, who was beginning to feel nervous himself.

And then, quite suddenly, from behind a hillock, the Dragon came forth. He burst open them like a ton of thunderbolts, raining down burning flames. The militia cried out in terror. "Hold your ground, men!" cried Sir Hadrian.

The militia fought valiantly, but they were no match for their opponent. One by one they fell, until only one lone soldier was left beside Sir Hadrian.

The dragon roared and raised a claw to crush the brave men into oblivion, opening his mighty mouth and pouring forth fire upon them. Sir Hadrian, struck with a sudden idea, cast his sword into the dragon's maw. The monster stopped short with a fiery gurgle, and then collapsed.

Sir Hadrian had won.
