A Different View
Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) drops down towards the horizon as the fading light illuminates the San Diego backcountry.
After shooting the comet from Ramona the night before, I decided I wanted to expand my view of some of my favorite hiking areas with Mt Woodson on the far right and Iron Mountain on the left. I took this from Volcan Mountain out in the Julian area.
Not only did I have the dwindling light from sunset that lasts so long when you are high up and far away from the coast but a 76% Waxing Gibbous moon illuminating the landscape.
Sony A7R5 w/ Sony FE 70-200 mm f/2.8 GM2
Tracked and Blended
Sky image ISO 100, 70mm, f/2.8, 30 seconds ( I wanted to use the tracker so I could keep the surrounding stars as pinpoints rather then star trails )
Blended with a foreground image of 3 bracketed shots
ISO 100, 94mm, f/2.8
