Eagle Rock Twilight

Twilight settles into San Diego's east county showing the starry sky above Eagle Rock and Lake Henshaw in the distance.

As I was waiting for it to get dark enough to shoot the Milky Way the other night I was also shooting some blue hour photos of the landscape and the long burning sunset that left a nice glow in the sky.

This photo was taken at 2 minutes long exposure which really brought out the color but blurred the stars, so I took a shorter photo to show off the stars and swapped the stars in for the star trails. That meant I had to go in and erase all the star trails I saw ( ugh...what a process) and then take a separate layer of just the stars from another photo and blend them in so the stars would show as more traditional round star points but without ruining the lovely color of the long exposure.
