Eagle Rising
The Milky Way rising up over Eagle Rock in San Diego's backcountry.
Eagle Rock is a series of rocks that looks like an eagle with its wings outspread, it sits along the Pacific Crest Trail in San Diego's Backcountry.
I wanted to get another Milky Way in before the "Milky Way Season" ends soon, and since the Milky Way is almost vertical by the time you can see it this time of year I thought it would line up well with this landmark.
It was really warm when I got there, 88 degrees and the heat was my big worry, but a large part of the hike is under tree cover and I planned my hike so that I would arrive at Eagle Rock just after sunset so all in all it was a pleasant 6.5 mile hike.

I shot the foreground at Blue Hour ( the time after sunset when there is still just enough light to give some detail to your foreground before its to dark).
