Fire in the Sky
The San Diego City skyline during sunset as seen from the top of Cowles Mountain.
I decided to go for a hike towards the end of the day just before a storm came into San Diego. Doing this during the week is not normally a luxury I have because I am meeting with clients, but with most of my clients out of town for the holidays it gave me chance to get out.
I brought a 70-200mm lens and a 2 X Teleconverter. I've been up to this spot before at sunset and I know there is a great view of the San Diego City Skyline, but I did not want to bring my Big, long, heavy lens, so I went with this set up instead.
I did bring my travel tripod instead of one of my larger sturdier tripods and even though it worked fine I would not suggest it since I had to keep holding my tripod to try and steady it against the wind with the telephoto on it.
I was not sure if we would get a good sunset, but there was a break in the clouds towards the horizon which allowed the sun to light up the clouds as it got closer to the horizon giving us this image.
Sony A7R5 w/ Sony FE 70-200mm F/2.8 GM2 + 2 X T.C
ISO 100, 270mm, f/5.6, 5 bracketed images at 1/8, 1/30, 1/125, 1/500, and 1/2000 sec exposures.
