A hit and a miss

A osprey takes flight after hitting the water but coming up empty.

 

I was busy photographing a Snowy White Egret catching dragonfly's, I knew the osprey was around but it didn't seem to be doing much when I heard something hit the water hard, I know what it was so I turned and caught the osprey as it took flight and headed for a branch to dry off until its next opportunity came about.
