Reflecting
The cross reflecting off of the black polished granite slabs at the Mt Soledad National Veterans Memorial in La Jolla, California.
The black granite walls have faces and stories of veterans from all five branches of the military who served during times of war, including the merchant marines in WW2 etched onto the front of each wall.
There has been much controversy over this memorial but that seems to have died down in the last few years. I like going up here for the unique view you get off the San Diego region from the top of Mt Soledad, and as a veteran of a foreign war myself I can appreciate the significance of the memorial.
