Turkish Bath Origins
That Pumukkale site, back in Turkey, is one of a kind.
First, note that the bath I'm talking about doesn't include getting wet in the small lake in the foreground, as that lake is just here for decoration.
Instead, the bath are taking place on the side of that suspiciously white mountain, which is white because at the top of it lies a hot spring from where the water flows all the way to the bottom of the mountain, creating perfect pools in the process.
But that's just the first taste of what's going on here as I found out when on location.
At the summit lies the ruins of an entire former roman city, including streets, house foundations, and a wonderfully preserved outdoor theater that could fit thousands of people, all hidden from the bottom of all things.
So when you think you're already blessed at the sight of this wonderful natural beauty, know that this is just the beginning.
