On 28 July, the official closing conference of the EU-funded Twinning project “Strengthening the capacities for effective implementation of the Acquis in the field of freedom of movement for workers” was organised at the EU InfoCentre.

The EU-funded Twinning project aimed at preparing the national institutions for successful fulfillment of the obligations related to the effective implementation of the Acquis in the area of freedom of movement of workers.
In the period between February 2014 - August 2015, budgeted with almost 1 million EUR, the experts from Sweden, Hungary and the Netherlands assisted the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and the Employment Service Agency to strengthen their institutional and administrative capacities for coordination of social security systems and for participation in the European Employment Services Network (EURES).
The project activities were implemented through two components. Component 1 was focused on improving the administrative capacity and procedures, as well as on strengthening the cooperation among all institutions involved in social security coordination.
The main objective of Component 2 was to improve the administrative regulations and capacities in supporting the mobility of workers within the European Union and development of EURES services.
