Trona Pinnacles - California - USA

We took the "Long Way Home" coming back to Portland for the summer!! Driving U.S. Hwy 395. It is a 557-mile route.

Our first evening was in Ridgecrest, California. It is known for the Trona Pinnacles. The Trona Pinnacles are an unusual geological feature in the California Desert National Conservation Area. The landscape consists of more than 500 tufa spires, some as high as 140 ft, rising from the bed of the Searles Lake basin.

We arrived around sunset and stayed until the stars came out!
