UP 6936 RRHMA Excursions - Bureau Junction
The Railroading Heritage of Midwest America organization operated two days of excursions with restored DDA40X "Centennial" locomotive #6936, with Iowa Interstate providing ES44AC #513 for backup. The trainset operated one round trip per day - west towards South Amana, IA on 9/20 and east to Bureau Junction, IL on 9/21, both trips originating in Silvis, IL.
With the picnic lunch at Bureau Junction complete, the trainset begins reversing back towards the east end of the wye and passes the former Rock Island depot in the process, ready to blast off westbound to Silvis.
