Purple Sky

#noediting according to my brother the sky really looked that purple - he took this capture, and he sent it to me. #nofilter This photo seems so fake, though. To me, at least! Did anyone saw/experienced/heard (about) something like this before? a purple PURPLE sky?! Without editing? for real?

 

Any information about this phenomena will be of great value. Thanks in advance.

I think I read somewhere that this unusual sky color may be due to pollution...

No, I mean... I'm not saying that he edited this pic or anything. It's just... I don't know. Sometimes a camera fails to capture the beauty and magic of a scene the way your eyes want it to (especially a cell phone capture). It is like when you are trying to take a moon picture. By the way, I can't do moon pictures! My pictures of the moon are always a total bleh.
