Свэтлана-Class Protected Frigate

Although technically a Torpedo Cruiser, the Svetlana-Class were a new and promising foray into the design of a fleet mainstay, the light protected cruiser. Whilst not as heavily armed or protected as even the previous generation of Manqing-era ships, she and the other members of her class featured more modern weapons, higher top speeds, and more protected casemate areas. Her six 7" Long-barrel guns had a high range, but her boisterous range had the adverse effect of the 7" shells having only the effective penetration of a 5" shell, and only being able to carry the equivalent ordnance of a 5". Her fore, aft, and twin mount swiveling torpedoes gave the ship powerful close-range armament as well. A secondary battery of three 2" QF-guns and three 1" QF guns for anti-TB operations are also notable. Featuring armor decks of 1.3" thickness and a citadel consisting of a 1" armored box around the engines and magazines, the ship was also quite well protected despite its small size and fast nature.
