Close Coupling Articulation 01

A render of the close coupling design for articulated trains. The main adaptation is the diagonal linkage (coloured red) that centres the cars on straight sections of track, removing the need for strong elastic bands and the problems that their use was causing.

The primary advantage of this design is that it now ensures that the cars can articulate independently of the bogie rotation. Coupling is achieved using the upward-pointing pins and axles. I have not yet tested it, but this arrangement may also be suitable for Talgo trains by fixing the axle to the central member (coloured white) which should provide the steering effect needed for this type of train.
