The opposite (seaward) side of the loco. This is the side where the electric conductor rail would be, so it is on this side that the collector shoe is fitted. There is also a not insignificant drop down into the sea, so this side of the cab generally remains closed.
I know it looks a bit like a panel, but the profile bricks actually represent a wooden door that is either fitted or removed from the aperture.
