View into Funningur Fjord I

Finally nice weather; we drive to the small village Funningur. Our plan there is to take the bus up the pass road and walk to the viewpoint on the fjord.

 

In contrast to other years there was a lot of snow this time; in addition extremely much wind and tires without spikes. These or snow chains were not available at the car rental. Their tip: Stay in the hotel in such weather conditions 😂😂😂.

 

We have no chance to drive up on the badly cleared road. We leave the bus and continue on foot. It becomes a 5 hours and 11 kilometers long round trip through snow and snow drifts with strong wind from the front.

 

For our efforts we are rewarded with constantly changing weather conditions and breathtaking light moods.
