Mountain triumvirate Piz Bernina - Piz Scerscen - Piz Roseg

On the way to the SAC hut Chamanna Coaz, 2611 meters above sea level, I admire this triumvirate of peaks covered with firn snow, the highest mountains far and wide. Piz Bernina is the only four-thousand-meter peak in the Eastern Alps, its altitude is 4049 meters above sea level.

I climbed Piz Roseg when I was young, starting from Chamanna da Tschierva (far left, not in the picture), crossing the massive Vadret da Tschierva and ascending the NW ridge, known as "Eselsgrat" to the main summit- for me a lasting memory. Piz Roseg is one of the most beautiful peaks in the Bernina massif. It forms impressive views from all sides. The double peak, the Schneekuppe (3917 m) and the main peak (3936 m) form the border ridge with Italy. Engadin, Switzerland.
