Red Racer Vol. 2 #12: Trick's On You Pt. 3
So, after the unfortunate smackdown from those two creeps, I ran back to STAR and got some help with my hand. Turns out, half of my hand was being labeled as "unhealable", which was disproved due to my inheritance of an advance regenerative condition. My (good) hand ran through my newly cut hair as I listen to Cait go on about being more careful. The haircut was a necessity, because it sucks to get hair strands in my mouth when I'm going 200 mph. Cait got a new 'do too, and now her hair is dyed a bleached blonde, which scares me a little knowing who she is in other worlds.
"So, the good news is that your hand healing pretty fast compared to usual. Should only be a few hours until it's okay. The bad news though..." she says as she turns to the computer we have in the lab, "Is that no one has seen this Trickster guy or his metal friend for a couple hours. We ID'd them, though. James Jesse the Second, and Tony...Woodward. But, that's Victor's cousin...great."
I miss the last thing Caitlin said and can only focus on what I remember. Jesse kissed me. I saw his eyes. Those blank, crazy eyes. He's a psychopath, and he shot that woman. I can't get him out of my head. If he's on the streets any longer, the body count will rise. Have to get him, before it happens again...
A hand on my shoulder makes me jump and I quickly grab them. Cisco freaks out at this. It was him, wearing a baggy, tan jumpsuit.
"Woah! Didn't realize that would happen. You okay?" he asks, and I stare for a second before I try my best to fake a smile.
"I'm good. What's that, Venkman?" I joke, and he laughs before handing me the object. It's a paper plate decorated to look like a jack-o-lantern. On the other side is a scribble of a stick figure that has no head. It has a...lightning bolt across its body.
"This was found in a container in Jesse's cell. Detective West gave it to us for analysis, but really I think it's because he believes we work with the "Red Racer/Flash" vigilante."
I shake my head and run to the computer and speed through Woodward's files. There's no indication of him being involved with the particle reactor explosion, since he was actually in Coast City during the accident, but there has to be someth-aha.
"Woodward visited Dr. Wells multiple times a while after the particle accelerator incident," I explain as they look at me, "Where is Wells?"
"He left a couple months ago after he made a breakthrough in nuclear fission, plus an argument with his partner with the metahuman studies. Can't remember his name. Now he's at Mercury Labs. The doctor who took over his position is named, um...Hunter Zolomon, I think."
I smile.
"Well then, I think the Flash needs an appointment with Dr. Zolomon."
