Grey Duck ( Anas superciliosa )
As I waited in the hope of a Crake appearing, this Grey Duck mother with seven ducklings came gliding into the pool of light before me .
Unfortunately the ducklings were so far in front of her I could not get the whole group.
Its the beginning of Duck shooting and these birds are with young...
The other saddening thing is that we are loosing our Grey Ducks to hybridisation with introduced Mallard....
