Beethoven
From a printed copy of Beethoven's autograph - in the 250th anniversary of his birth, marvelling at what for me is a foreign language - I can just about follow a score but cannot "hear" anything more sophisticated than 3 Blind Mice, still less imagine putting pen to paper to capture musical ideas... but I love to puzzle over such things from time to time and am all the more grateful to live in the age of recorded music...
