Stomorhina lunata (Fabricius 1805) ♀ (Diptera Oestroidea Rhiniidæ Rhiniinæ Rhiniini); Senna (Senna) bicapsularis (Linnæus 1758) (Fabales Fabaceæ Cæsalpinioideæ Cassieæ Cassiinæ)
[Stomorhina Rondani 1861: 9 (IT: 1) spp]
[Senna Miller 1754: 284 (IT: 2) spp]
Rhiniidæ is a well-corroborated clade, and its recent removal from Calliphoridæ is supported by molecular data. Although its precise phylogenetic placement remains unstable, the family status is advisable, as recent analyses removed this taxon from the other members of traditional Calliphoridæ. Rhiniidæ never form a clade with any of the calliphorid sff, being either the sister group to a clade consisting of tachinids, rhinophorids and calliphorids (max likelihood & Bayesian) or sister group to a clade including the oestrids along with tachinids, rhinophorids and calliphorids.
