Tachyporus (Palporus) nitidulus (Fabricius 1781) ♂ (Coleoptera Staphylinoidea Staphylinidæ Tachyporinæ Tachyporini)

Illustration for a comparative ecophylogenetic analysis of local myrmecofaunas, based on r/K selection theory and intra / interspecific parabiosis / lestobiosis, particularly focused on allochthonous and invasive species.

[Tachyporus Gravenhorst 1802: 40 (IT: 19) spp]

Parabiotic of Lasius fuliginosus.

63,650 Staphylinidæ spp classification is ongoing, with some proposing as many as 10 separate ff, but the current favored system is one of 32 sff, ∼167 tbb (some grouped into Stbb) & ∼3,200 gg; ∼400 new spp are being described each year, and some ℮℮ suggest 75% of tropical spp are as yet undescribed.
