The Magnificent 7: Movie Review (SPOILERS)

So, this Friday I had gone to the movies to watch The Magnificent 7. Here are my thoughts.

-

It was surprisingly good. I went in only seeing one trailer and a promotional ad, and I was surprised at how much fun I was having while watching it. The action is awesome and the story is pretty good, I liked almost all of the characters. If I had to describe this movie in two words, they'd be 'fun' and 'ballsy'. The action doesn't hesitate to show a bit of blood, and it isn't as sanitized as the PG-13 movies that come out today usually are, which was nice.

!SPOILER TERRITORY!

So, this movie obviously wasn't looking to make a sequel and keep the franchise going, because they killed off 4/7 of the main characters. Is thaty a bad thing? No, not at all. In fact, I would argue that it is a good thing, and adds to the grit of the movie. On one note, I'd like to say I liked that the explosions weren't some overblown big ball of fire you'd see in a Michael Bay movie. They mostly consist of dust being thrown up in the air. It was refreshing. Also, the characters almost all had a reason to be there, and they had developement by the end. I particulurly like Ethan Hawke's character of Goodnight. He was well fleshed out, and had a good arch. Every actor did perfectly in they're roles, and consistantly entertained me.

So that's my review. I might make a figure from the movie, but I don't know. School is a bitch, and I've gotten not much time to work on figures.
