Six of Swords

The Six of Swords is about taking action; beginning an adventure. In Celtic myth, the hero's journey often begins with a symbolic crossing of water, and this card suggests that inciting action. The hero plunges ahead toward undiscovered lands, inspired by the six swords before him and accompanied by dragonflies on his crossing. He does not travel recklessly, as his boat is loaded with supplies; and the totem animal painted on the stern soars overhead, guiding his way.

In a reading, this card suggests that the seeker is ready for change and travel - either as a literal journey or a subtle change of mentality and intention. The time is right, and the seeker has but to act. As a totem, this image pushes the viewer to prepare themselves and take heed of their guardian angels and intuition so that they may act fearlessly.
