mists of november

When morning arrives- wet and cold

with leaves in the gutter

with the sun on hold,

then does the mist become

ice on the wind screen

and on the goldfish pond.

 

Breath shows in the air

it draws in sharp and cool.

Warmth shows in outdoor wear

in kids walking to their school.

When morning arrives-wet and cold,

November mists hover around the world-

silken threads on a spool.
