Natives Defending Standing Rock

Native American Veterans from several different engagements have converged on Standing Rock, ND. On Veterans Day, they met early in the morning, lined up in formation, sang a few songs of tribute, and began their march out towards the edge of contested territory. Police presence in the are has stated a strict arrest-zone on a bridge just a few hundred yards down the road from Standing Rock camp. The Veterans reached out in a sign of peace, and performed a water-ceremony honoring one of their fallen comrades on the bridge, while the National Guard, and State Police watched on wearily
