Après avoir marché 8 kilomètres de marche et recherche dans les sentiers de la réserve de Pointe Yamachiche pour essayer de trouver la Nyctale de Tengmalm sans succès en cette superbe journée d'hiver, je me suis arrêté sur ce rang de Berthierville où j'avais déjà eu du succès avec des Pygargues et Buse à queue rousse. Ma chance a tourné quand j'ai aperçu cette superbe Buse pattue branchée au fêtre d'un mélèze sur le bord de la route. Le soleil n'était pas à son meilleur pour une prise, mais j'ai quand même tenté ma chance.

After walking 8 kilometers and searching the trails of the Pointe Yamachiche nature reserve to try and find a boreal owl without success on this beautiful winter day, I stopped on this Berthierville road where I had already had success with bald eagles and red-tailed hawks. My luck changed when I spotted this superb rough-legged hawk perched on the crown of a larch tree on the side of the road. The sun wasn't at its best for a shot, but I gave it a try anyway.
