Canard mandarin / Mandarin Duck / Aix galericulataff

Boisbriand, Québec, Canada.

 

J'étais avec mon ami qui m'avait fait part de l'Ictérie polyglotte de Ville Lasalle, Montréal, il voulait se rendre à Boisbriand pour voir un canard Mandarin qui était sur les rives glacées de la rivière des Milles-Îles. Un beau mâle qui se serait accoquiné d'une femelle canard Branchu. J'avais eu l'occasion d'observer cette espèce dans un parc urbain de Californie, si ma mémoire est bonne, c'était le Yorba Regional Park.

Le voici donc dans un environnement hivernal au Québec.

I was with my friend, who had told me about the Polyglot Icteria of Ville Lasalle, Montreal; he wanted to go to Boisbriand to see a Mandarin duck that was on the icy banks of the Milles-Îles River. A beautiful male that had mated with a female Wood duck. I had the opportunity to observe this species in an urban park in California; if I remember correctly, it was the Yorba Regional Park.

So here it is in a winter environment in Quebec.
