Une autre image qui traînait sur mon bureau de portable et que j'ai prise le printemps passé à Timmins en Ontario lors de mon voyage de retour de l'Île de Vancouver avec mon beau-frère. Nous avions arrêté à Timmins pour y passer la nuit et c'était une superbe journée chaude du début du mois de mai. Arrivé tôt en après-midi, j'avais profité de l'ensoleillement pour visiter quelques points EBird du secteur qui avait rapporté des parulines les jours derniers. Dans un petit boisé à proximité de l'Hospital alors que je venais de passer dans un petit sentier qui n'avait pas été productif, j'ai rebroussé chemin. À peine 10 minutes, après avoir passé près d'une petite clairière verdoyante que j'avais croisée à l'aller, j'ai rencontré cet imposant mâle qui broutait tranquillement les repousses tendres printanières. Le vent était contre moi et emportait mon odeur vers ce rusé ursidé. Il a immédiatement senti ma présence et j'ai été contraint de faire un grand détour pour éviter une mauvaise expérience. Avouez qu'il est quand même très imposant pour un ours qui sort d'hibernation...

Another image I took from my laptop desk from last spring in Timmins, Ontario on my trip back home from Vancouver Island with my brother-in-law. We had stopped in Timmins to spend the night there, and it was a wonderfully hot day of early May. Arrived early in the afternoon, I took advantage of the sunshine to visit some EBird points in the area which had reported Warblers in the last few days. In a small wooded area near the Hospital when I had just taken a small path that had not been productive, I turned back. Barely 10 minutes, after having passed near a small green pasture clearing that I had crossed on the way in, I met this imposing male bear who was quietly grazing the tender spring regrowth. The wind was against me and carried my scent towards this cunning bear. He immediately sensed my presence and I was forced to take a big detour to avoid a bad experience with Mr Grumpy. Admit that it is a very imposing fat bear for one coming out of hibernation...
