LadyArtist – Fur Fashion Photo-shoot
File: 2016005-0072
In my back garden, somewhere in Worcestershire, United Kingdom, on Tuesday 15th November 2016.
About the photograph.
This is Marie, known as LadyArtist on the model booking websites like PurplePort, where I found her from. I booked her for a two hours photo-shoot at my home.
She is posing in a cream coloured [UK] size 16 Dorothy Perkins faux fur coat. She is also posing in her own dark blouse and dark blue jeans tucked into her black knee-length boots. Here, she is posing next to the back wall of my house.
The first hour was an outdoors fashion themed photo-shoot, and during this time, she worn different fur coat outfits and styles, posed in different spots with different backgrounds. This phase of the photo-shoot was mainly fashion based, and also serve as assets for my graphic design projects.
The second hour was indoors, for glamour and kinky themed shoots.
You can see the other shoots in my Album titled LadyArtist.
As I am a deaf person with speech impaired, you would figure there would be communications difficulties between myself the photographer and her as the model. But despite the difficulties, we did get on well. She had left a positive review on my account on PurplePort.
Sadly she passed away about two years after this photo-shoot, and I was not aware of this, until about two years after her passing away, when I saw a memorial message on her profile on the model booking website.
She was a really great model, I had a great time working with her.
About the subject.
In 1909 Dorothy Perkins was founded in Leeds, in the United Kingdom, under the name of H. P. Newman & Co.
In 1916, they started using the Dorothy Perkins trading name, and by 1919, they opened their first Dorothy Perkins specialist shop for ladieswear, and over the years, they expanded to about 75 shops by 1939.
In the late 1970s, they expanded to about 275 shops, and a 70% shares in the boutique company Bibi. However, by 1979, Dorothy Perkins was sold to The Burton Group later known as the Arcadia Group.
But the Arcadia Group, owned by the wife of Philip Green, entered into administration in the early 2020s, with most of the brand names either closed down or sold off.
The online company Boohoo bought the Dorothy Perkins brand name, and it is now trading as an online store only.
You are welcome to comment on my photo about the photo itself, about the subject, or about your similar experience. BUT do NOT use canned comments that talks about the groups. My photo’s comment box is not an adverting billboard for the groups. Those kind of comments will be deleted.
