Collectormania 9, Middleton Hall, thecentre:mk, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England, United Kingdom. Friday 28th April 2006.
About the photograph.
This is the American actor and director, Jonathan Frakes. He was born on 19th August 1952, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, United States of American.
Between 1977 to 1986, he had been in many television episodes, but he is most famous for his role as Commander William T Riker, in the 1987-1994 science fiction series Star Trek: The Next Generation, and the later movies.
In additional to his acting roles, Frakes also worked as a director with four movies, and various television episodes under his belt, including many Star Trek spin-offs.
Notice the wedding ring on his finger in the both photographs, he is married to the actress Genie Francis, their wedding too place in May 1988.
In this photograph, I used my Minolta X-700 35mm film SLR camera and a telephoto lens, possibly the 80-200mm f4.5 zoom for this telephoto shoot of Frakes. Sadly I have no idea which roll of film I used, more likely to be either Kodak which is my preferred choice or Afga which is my secondary choice, depending on availability of stock.
About the event and the location.
Collectormania is one of the British range of fan conventions run by Showmasters, a company set up in 2002. Showmasters started out with just three people on full time, and a dozen others during show weekends, but grew to become an office full of people working all year around, with as much as up to 350 crew members making events happen. Their other fan conventions include London Film & Comic Con, among the many other events.
The Central Milton Keynes shopping centre, previously known as thecentre:mk or now simply as centre:mk, is made of two adjacent shopping centres, the original shopping centre that opened in 1979 and the Midsummer Place that opened in 2000, in the middle of the largest town.
