Faded Angel

The angel fades as

she drifts away,

into the setting sun,

she can not stay.

 

Thinking she had someone

who loved her way.

Whom under stress,

would not tatter and fray

and in times of need

could kneel and pray

 

Into the distance she drifts away,

waiting just slightly to be asked to stay.

Slow down her thoughts today

as her heart begins to sway.

Still she knows she can not stay.

 

His hearts demons have

stolen him away.

Its in his hands now

not to tatter and fray

but instead to kneel and pray

perhaps then her heart

wont drift away.

 

Its late in the evening

and done is the day.

Faded this angel vanishes

through the doorway.

Vaguely hearing a faint

whisper to stay.

 

Then the light comes,

chasing doubt away.

That still small voice

in love dose say,

show me how not to

tatter and fray.

 

Let us together

kneel and pray.

Let love in our hearts

heal and sway

as the demons,

together we chase away.

 

The Angel fades into the

setting sun anyway.

Leading the demons far away.

Leaving the lover to

his lost highway.

 

Until each other can

not tatter and fray.

Until they come together

to kneel and pray

as husband and wife.

Perhaps then she

might return to stay.
