Cambrian BR Sulzer Type 2's - September 1971

As a 17 year old in September 1971 I had my first holiday without without my parents.

Along with my friends Nick & Cliff I had a week in a bed and breakfast in Towyn. As a BR Civil's Apprentice I was able to make use of my free tickets to do the holiday and we did day trips to the Vale of Rheidol, Talyllyn, Festiniog and Snowdon Mountain Railways.

During our travels that week I was lucky enough to capture 4 different British Rail Sulzer Type 2 locomotives on the daily goods train.

On 17 September 1971 we see British Railways Sulzer Type 2 5059 travelling north through Barmouth Station with gunpowder wagons heading for Penrhyndeudraeth.
