Stonechat juvenile. Ramsley Moor, Derbyshire Peak District. DSC_9257.jpg
I had a brief stop at Ramsley Moor in my quest to find Whinchat in the Peak last month. I did definitely see one female, but most of the chats I identified were Stonechat, male, female and juvenile, in several family groups, alongside the inevitable Meadow Pipits. With so many eyes it was hard to get onto any individuals for quality images, this youngster is one of the few I caught. The wind on the exposed moor above the track didn't help, nor did persistent phone calls from my GP, so I turned off my phone and moved on elsewhere!
Thank you for your faves and comments, much appreciated.
