Redwings, Bramcote, Nottinghamshire. DSC_9342.jpg

I had intended to go to Attenborough for a couple of hours as it was quite sunny at home, but as I was driving there, the fog developed and thickened as I dropped down towards the River Trent. So, I turned back home since I thought the light would be too poor there for photography.

I found a flock of Redwings feeding on Rowan trees by the roadside as I was driving back to Wollaton, through Bramcote. I pulled off the main road to take some photos as the fog seemed thinner.

After an hour or so, I decided to raise the ISO and try to grab some flight shots if I could. The Redwings were a bit fast and tricky up close, fluked this one, which I quite liked for the display of the characteristic red underwing, so here it is.
