Jetera, the Rogue Storm
“A warrior such as Jetera ought not to be more than a footnote in the annals of history. Yet his name is whispered in the circles of the wise and he is watched with great expectation.
No record exists of Jetera prior to his induction into the Toa Vihagu, as the last member of that roster. Although a Toa, Jetera had no ability to use his elemental powers, despite the efforts of Emekal and his Toa brethren to aid him. During this time, Jetera experimented with all kinds of weaponry, including swords, staves, and even hand artillery.
Jetera reportedly unlocked his powers in a life-threatening situation during the battle of Talis, during which he was inexplicably fighting on the front lines. Also during the events of Talis he obtained his weapon of choice, a lightning-infused sword dubbed Faera.
It was this sword that ultimately tied Jetera to the cult of the Stormhawk, of whom I shall say more in a separate discourse. At each successive battle that Jetera has taken part in, dark rumors have circulated. A plot to kill or confine Jetera and steal away Faera has been discussed, but because of the blade’s unstable elemental power and Jetera’s watchfulness it is unlikely to be carried out successfully, unless we can additionally reverse-engineer the steel gauntlets Jetera uses to insulate the blade from his hands.
When passive, Jetera is not one to talk to those he has not learned to trust. The stress of battle seems to remove that sense of collectedness, and his terse, sarcastic commentary in combat has become a calling card for him. His morality is not set in stone, and his duty as a Toa, while rationalized in his mind, is not always forefront.
Jetera still has difficulty controlling his elemental power, and cannot always use Faera unless he is in full control of it. But when he does have control, his electrical abilities are quick and effective.”
