Watson Mill Covered Bridge. Near Comer, Georgia. Entry point to state park. Built 1885. 229’ in length. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991 along with the nearby mill. Town Lattice Truss system. Spans South Fork.

I had just been futilely searching for a covered bridge in Oglethorpe County, and gave up. There are at least four Georgia covered bridges that fall into that category. They all are not clearly marked, and cell service is not always great. But, this one was well marked. It serves as the entrance to a state park. I returned five years later, having found the elusive Howard’s Bridge about twenty minutes earlier. www.lostbridges.org/details.aspx?id=GA/10-97-01&loc=n
