Crossing the Threshold
With my bare hands in one swoop I caught a black snake as long as I am right behind its head (we both were fine, no injuries or incidents with either of us, I was just helping out the snake for a somewhat skittish state park ranger to re-locate it to a more remote area); however, know this: the eastern kingsnake will rattle the tip of its tail to frighten predators away, it will also defecate on a predator and spray the predator with a foul smelling musk so the predator will leave it alone, and if you attempt to pick up an eastern kingsnake, be prepared for it to bite you, defecate on you, and spray you with a horrible smelling musk so you will leave it alone
To all who visit and view, and – especially – express support and satisfaction: you are much appreciated!

Album – Charlotte, NC – 2018AUG19 – Eastern King snake:
As Joe was stepping over it onto our porch, he said to me, "Snake!"
Sure enough, surprise! There was a three-foot Eastern King snake.
I turn on my cell phone to take some more "fuzzy" photos...
Hope you enjoy the 18% of 28 photos I took here this day!
