Entsprechend den Bedingungen des Friedensvertrags von Versailles wurde das Fort Weisenau 1922 geschleift, die frei gewordene Fläche konnte erst ab 1930, nach der Beendigung der Alliierten Rheinlandbesetzung, genutzt werden; einzelne Kasematten blieben bis heute erhalten
