Saw a large animal in the middle of the mud road - thought it was a jackal. Id shots suggested otherwise. Rushed towards the place where he was sighted first. No Sign. Got off the car. Started looking around, still no sign. Spotted a harrier flying in the distance, they had already started hunting. At 7am. Yup, this is summer and these are the last of the harriers, I thought. Heard a rustle in the bushes behind. Turned around, and he was running away from me - just a few feet away.
Damn! He was right there - where was I looking?!
Pointed the lens towards him, and started clicking frantically. He stopped for a second and turned to look. Seemed like a lot longer to me, and my camera recorded 3 shots. In the next frame, there was a part of the tail. And the frame after that, just the tall grass. Sooner than he had appeared, he was gone.
