1956年2月11日，港督葛量洪主持工業專門學院奠基禮。翌年12月2日主持校舍開幕。1976年4月8日，舉行香港理工學院校舍第一期工程平頂儀式。10月26日，港督麥理浩主持校舍開幕禮。校舍第三期於1979年完成。1997年，工業專門學院校舍己全部拆卸重建。
The campus (white part) of the Hong Kong Technical College was built in 1957. It became the Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1972. The campus Phase I (red part) was completed in 1976 while Phase III was completed in 1979. The original premise was completely demolished in 1997.
