"I love thee my little rabbit"

Its been raining aaaaaallll day which put my plans for photography this weekend in the trash, so I thought I'd try some indoor shots. In particular that "classic" heart shadow by candlelight shot.

Very difficult, much harder than I thought it was going to be. Here are some of the things I found:

1. Candles have different colours under a photo lens, some come out quite white, while some like this one are yellowy so that is an extra consideration (I prefer this yellowy hue)

2. DoF is very small, so the viewer will pick out just a few lines at most, making book choice important. I went for For Whom The Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway as I think the romantic sub-story is beautful. Even then, finding a sentence or two to highlight is very tough

3. Height and Distance of the candle from the object makes a huge impact to the shadow size and clarity.

This shot isnt perfect, but once again I've learnt a lot and can see that there is a lot of potential for this sort of photograph, creating shadow imagery.
