Future Crimson sports scribe, Hope Schwartz, age 8, files her first story.
"The Giants beat the Reds in 10 innings by a score of 6-5 before a crowd of 41,263 Giants faithful. Barry Bonds hit the 577th home run of his career. The blast cleared the the right field wall, sailed over the arcade, left the ball yard and landed in the bay. Benito Santigos' 10th inning single scored the winning run. Closer Rob Nen got the win for the G men. The Giants swept the Reds and take a 5-1 homestand on the road."
