Airborne Feeding

This Arctic Tern returns to feed its chick with what appears to be a dragonfly, but the wind was blowing so hard it doesn't land, and instead feeds the chick while still flying. I had never seen this before and I didn't know it had occurred until I processed this image. Wow, that's quite the control while flying! I watched several terns flying in place into the wind during my visit to the marsh. I had to be so tough on these birds to fight these strong winds.
