Floating on the waves
This handsome Hooded Merganser drake floats on Gunners Lake in Maryland. This was the first place I got to see them calling to the females which is a joyful experience. One of my favorite birds, I persuaded my wife to let me buy my 600mm based on capturing this bird as these birds don't get very close.
