Portrait of a Northern Shoveler Hen

Another closeup! Here I'd like to point out the lamellae - comb-like structures along the inside of the bill that act like sieves and look like teeth. I noticed these more on the shovelers but a lot of ducks have them. And with the big bill that northern shovelers have, it's easier to see them!
