American Dipper
Another new bird for me was capturing this American Dipper at the Eagle River Nature Center. It was fishing by the bank of the river. I laughed when I spied it moving it's tail up an down in a way that made me think of a sandpiper. Unfortunately this dipper kept moving away from me along the bank in the shade and didn't give me much of a choice! But it was a thrill to finally see one and get a shot!
I watched it as it dove into the water and came up with a tiny minnow that it ate. I knew these birds were in the area and they tend to follow the breakup of the rivers as I understand, but I think in a way its a sign of Spring!
